Peninsula Sub Aqua Club
Facilities
Pool - We hire the 25m school pool at Redruth School every Friday evening from 8.30pm until 10pm. It has a maximum depth of 2.5m at the deep end, which is where most of our training takes place, but also shelves up to the shallow end so that an appropriate depth can be used for each exercise. Club members can come along for a swim, or a snorkel, and if qualified, to use full SCUBA kit, either for training/skills review, or just for fun! Family and friends are also welcome - cost for adults is £2 per session, and £1 per session for children. Payment should be made to the Lifeguard.

Boat - We have a 5.8m Osprey Viper RIB with a 125hp Mariner Outboard Engine. This is used for club diving every Sunday (weather permitting) but can be taken out at other times by appropriately qualified club members (who are able to tow it) with the DO's prior knowledge and approval. This boat was purchased in 2001, and is our pride and joy! The boat comes with GPS, a depth sounder, full flares kit, and 02 kit.

This is the first picture of the new boat - not quite ready for its naming ceremony, though after a club vote it has been decided to name it "Wild Spirit". Watch this space for more info...

Equipment - We own several sets of club SCUBA equipment. These are available for use in pool training, try-dives, and for club members to hire for use in open water. We have available for use cylinders ranging from 10-15l size, regulators, buoyancy compensators, fins, snorkels, masks.

We also own a club Resusci-Annie which is used at all stages of training to teach AV and CPR as part of the rescue skills we like club members to have.
